Hello. My name is Matt Hart. I live in southern Indiana where I’ve been a high school Theatre, English, Speech and Debate teacher for just over 20 years. Additionally, I served as theatre director at Gibson Southern High School where I was lucky enough to be a part of so many successful productions including 3 state championships, the building of a top-level performing arts facility, and setting regular attendance records with the support of our community.
After handing directing responsibilities over to my long-time assistant, I have chosen to pursue an endeavor I am extremely passionate about – speaking to people about bullying. Having endured bullying myself, I want to act now to make a difference – to spark thought and even action by those who see my performance.
The prevalence of bullying is not up for debate. The short and long term damage is proving to be an epidemic. I hope you would give me an opportunity to take this difficult situation head on. My 45-minute presentation entitled “reACT to Bullying” includes live music, audience participation, dramatic scenes, and high-interest visuals. It is age-appropriate and based in the most current research.
I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have. Ultimately, I hope to work with you on how to “reACT to Bullying”.
